On October 31st, New Orleans Partying.com presents the ultimate Frenchmen st. Halloween super bash. This FREE event will be held at the largest and newest club on the street, Maison Musique (formerly Ray's Boom Boom room at 508 Frenchmen).

things have been so crazy busy lately at work that i haven't had time to do much. for those that don't know, i'm working with the plaintiffs in the huge crime camera civil trial that is taking forever. it is really interesting and i'm learning a ton, but the long hours and detail that it requires can try one's patience. fortunately i'm young and have enough energy to deal with it.
i overslept for trivia the other night, haven't been able to go online as much, haven't been able to play my newly bought PS3, haven't been able to have one-on-one time with my friends, and have pretty much been a hermit working in bed with my laptop and watching the news. once this thing is over, i'll be trying to get back in touch with everyone.
DJing is going well, and i'm really enjoying being with ActionActionReaction... we've had some great events lately with some fun people attending. packed houses all the time too...very cool. we're playing at One Eyed Jack's next Saturday, so i hope some of you come out there.
Thursdays at R-Bar need a boost in attendance though after the first ever two slow weeks in a row...i think the stifling heat is a factor. but hopefully some of you will come out there tomorrow and celebrate my birthday with me, despite the fact that i've been a non-social ass lately :)

Thursday: R-Bar went very well, yet again. the people there are really nice, and have good taste in music.
Friday: went to see Bingo! at Tipitina's with Julesy, Erin and RC. Earl was unbelievably great. so glad they brought him in.
Saturday: saw Peaches at HOB. she was, of course, amazing. so was Drums of Death, nevermind what some bespectacled hipster she-douche said that was in front of me and Donovan thought. "well, he's no John Tesh!", he said very loudly to her.
after the show, we walked down to Tiki's, then went to see Steve Aoki at Ampersand with Elizabeth. Ampersand was actually FUN for the second time in a row...crazy. i guess it depends on the crowd. got really sweaty dancing all night with Elizabeth and "Lab" Katie (i love that nickname). Aoki played all the best new indie/electro/nu-rave tracks, peaking with a remix of Animal Collective's "For My Girls", my favorite song of 2009 so far.
New Orleans is in the middle of a huge music month. unfortunately i had to miss seeing the Angel Sluts (my old friend Harry's band) playing at the Saint, and a few other events i wanted to see. i believe Holy Fuck were in Baton Rouge, and Quintron was at One Eyed Jack's the same night. OK, NOLA, stop with all the options! heh.
it is crazy how i can go from the worst month of my life to the best month ever. i keep meeting people who motivate me...i love it. will go into more detail of this past awesome weekend later.

two days of good beer starts today!
the WYES beer tasting is going on this weekend. going to the "private" event with Patty tonight...gonna drink a lot of Framboise and some local brews. then tomorrow the main event...but we'll see how i feel after we go to her friend's beer pong practice.
we also went to the Wine Institute of New Orleans (WINO) this week. WOW. you just load up a little pink swipy-card with money, stick it in a machine, and taste-test tons of fancy (or not-so-fancy) wines. they have wine and cheese events there a lot too...i think i'll be going back often.
saw Drag Me To Hell last week. AWESOME. Raimi is the master.
watching Buffy, and loving it.
hanging out with new people, or just reconnecting with old friends, has been invigorating. plus i've been able to re-focus on music and get some good things going.
ooh, and we're getting a big HD TV tomorrow too i think.
this week has been kinda...good? is that correct? i guess so! things are looking up.
